It's rather frustrating!
masking is easy...
Layer 3 ( something that will show... its hard to explain but, when the sword is on the head or body then make a new layer, on this new layer make a square ( remember that the square must be filled with color ) and then right click on this layer and choose Mask, remember, that only what is UNDER the square will be showed, others will be hided and Mask layer works ONLY for one layer below so when mask layer is layer 3 then layer 2 will be masked
Layer 2 ( layer where is your melee weapon )
Layer 1 ( layer where is the victim of the stab )
i hope this will help you... masking is little more hard but nothing is impossible
Wow you are still on NG? I like the second guys (right) body, it seems detailed, although it looks rather familiar, and i'm sure you probably just got it out of a spritesheet. I also don't know why you use the same crappy bird head sprites as before, and those terrible hand sprites.
They should look a lot more like birds, and I pray to god your animation skill has increased, and you're not turning out to be another crazymonkey (A guy who animates the same after like 5 years).
